How to measure the area for your Lilydale Instant Lawn
Measuring your lawn area is easy. Simply use a measuring tape to measure the width and length of the area, then multiply these figures together to get the total area in square metres.
When it comes to ordering, allow up to 5% extra to account for wastage, particularly if your lawn is an irregular shape.

Once you have measured your lawn, it's time to prepare the area.
How to prepare the area for your Lilydale Instant Lawn
- Remove all existing grass, weeds, stones, and other debris. Roundup or Glyphosate can be sprayed on your existing grass 7 days prior to any soil cultivation.
- Prepare a base of 100 mm of well-worked soil. If your existing soil is suitable, this may be as simple as rotary hoeing the soil. If your existing soil is minimal or poor quality, you will need to apply blended soil mix evenly across the area. Your local garden supplier can advise you on the correct turf blend soil to use in your area.
- Rake the entire area to ensure a smooth, even surface.
If your wanting to meet the lawn area up to a driveway or pathway the following depths are recommended:
- Sir Walter Buffalo - 25mm
- Eureka Premium VG, TifTuf & Sir Grange 20mm
